Damn! This aired last night on TV Japan in Sacramento. I only caught the last song - Love Letter. Brilliant as usual. Rin and Koh were there, too. I didn't recognize the drummer or guitar player.
Will be watching the Kohaku Uta Gassen, though.

Osaka Air Fare Sale Coincides with Tour!
I happened to be checking out the fare sales at United.com and found a link for something called Discover Osaka. (Go to Special Deals page) These fares are good from now until March 18, which coincides nicely with some of the dates on DCT's upcoming tour. I was planning to visit Japan in May when it...

About DCT being a housewives' band, it is probably true, but it cracks me up. I consider myself a hard-core rock fan: Rolling Stones, Who, Led Zep, AC/DC, Bruce, Clash, etc. I've seen pretty much all the greats, and except for Bruce, Miwa kicks butt over all of them. And not just by a little bit. Sh...

Thanks for the statistics tachikaze, and thanks for the comments jei! Very interesting. That Glay really has a tight grip on the top spot. What a score. I was just surprised to not find a mention of DCT on that other site. I know that site (projectj.net) is more of a rock site, but I'm a longtime ro...

DCT's Place in J-POP World
I was checking out a J-Pop/rock site (projectJ.net) and was surprised to see no mention of DCT anywhere. It made me wonder, is DCT too old, or simply on a different plateu and not considered J-Pop? Any comments on where DCT fits in in the overall J-Pop World? I was surprised, because to me, DCT is t...

Fascinating Woman: Miwa Yoshida (NHK Special)
Did anyone happen to see the NHK Special on Miwa, titled "Fascinating Woman: Miwa Yoshida"? I caught most of it on TVJapan Monday, Aug.16, and it was very well-done, as are most NHK documentaries. Much of it was one-on-one conversations with Miwa, about her music, her life, her inspirations, etc. It...

Great topic! Because DCT is one of the great live acts of all time. Here are mine, in no particular order (except for number one). 1. Live at the Fillmore, MGO Odessey West Coast. Thought I had died and gone to heaven. 2. Miwa riding in the red car in DWL 99 Winter. 3. The medley that starts after A...

Personally, I constantly play their DVDs on my computer at work, basically listening to them as a CD. It has a DVD player built in, but I'm mostly just listening to them. So in a two-for-one type of deal, I would recommend ordering a DVD next. 2003 Wonderland or 99 Winter are the best. It's a little...

Which DVD to buy
I will second jei's opinion. Winter '99 is the best overall, but if you are planning to buy several DVDs over time, you might want to get '95 first. But that's a tough call. I'm sure if you watch winter '99, it will immediately convince you that DCT is one of the best live acts of all time. You will...

Ola Vitoria video
Awesome video. I hope this song is a big hit. I didn't like the song all that much the first time I heard it, but after seeing the video, I love it! It really has energy and lots of originality. The soccer theme definitely worked for me! In the video, Masa almost steals the show. When I saw him in t...
