It will be DCT's 12th performance on Kouhaku this year. I'm very excited about it since this year for the first time ever I will be able to watch Kouhaku live on TV (it will be early morning in Brazil but I don't care!) at the same time I'm concerned about Miwa. I kinda wish they'd skip it this year... :?

The official list is out:

Wow, I really wasn't expecting them to appear this year. I guess this will be Miwa's first public appearence since her husband's passing. I hope she is really up to it...

Sheesh! I'm so tired I'm not making any sense anymore! My first line there seems like I mean it is the 12rd time they gonna be on Kouhaku this year! But I guess everyone understood what I meant.

Masa just announced on his blog that they also will be appearing on Music Station Super Live. He says that although we still can not be optimistic about her condition, he wants to support her will to move on. Hopefully this will be a new step for her in her recovery. Let's all be sure to support her by watching, however we can! :)

I'm amazed she's coming back to the stage this fast. Our thoughts and prayers need to be with Miwa during these tough times. This is a time when all of us DCT fans need to show our support in whatever ways are possible.

An article about the show's rehearsal and Miwa...I'm glad she has friends among the fellow performers ^^

I'm at a bit of a loss for words. Kohaku was amazing. It's obvious she's in pain. It even hurts to watch. Flawless performance, all the same.

Heard all those people in the audience screaming her name afterwards too...^^

I personally think it was one of the very best performances Miwa ever did because it slapped me in the face pretty hard when I saw it this morning. It is amazing to see how strong she is to give her best when singing, despite the pain.

I didn't manage to watch Kouhaku live as I wanted to, when I woke up they were already singing "Hotaku no Hikari". However as soon as I turned the TV on, I saw Miwa and Masa! ^^

Plus I have got a nice uncompressed 36 GB file of Kouhaku here on my computer! Phew! I'm glad my computer didn't crash during the recording.

Very interesting...the TV ratings for Kouhaku are out:
http://www1.plala.or.jp/nakaatsu/07sityouyosou.htm

DCT had the second highest rating of any of the performers during the show!
(Only SMAP was higher...)

I'll say it again...'Mata ne' will be huge :)

I got to see it on TV in Japan- and it was worth the trip. Miwa's voice faltered a bit at some points (you could feel the emotion) but she carried on and performed exceptionally. My wife said it was very respectful of NHK to introduce DCT with the preceding two songs, which portray the remembrance of someone who has passed on as an uplifting experience.

Kouhaku blew Record Taisho out of the water- even the performances of the same songs by the same artists were better.

Nice closeup of Miwa and Masa at the end!
