How come no one posted their thoughts about the new album yet?! :?

I have a good reason though, I have listened to the album to a grand total of ONE time so far. I've been cheating on DCT lately, I have heard nothing but Kraftwerk on my way to work. As soon as I heard the album again, I will be sure to post my thoughts here.

I have listened to the album twice, and so far, none of the non-single tracks seemed outstanding. I think I need to listen to it some more...

I got mine today! n.n *dances* Listening right now (on Tsuretette Tsuretette). :3

I still love the bouncy wintery tracks. n.n Hehe

Edit 1: I noticed the theme for this one is rather subdued. Beige paint, a red sign, plastic coverings... many Masas and Miwas helping to put DCT together. The booklet is printed on plain beige paper more or less. Very interesting. Back to basics mebbie?

Edit 2: To The Beat, Not To The Beat has a VERY city feel. Reminds me of The Monster and MGO (and Sting, but that's not important). Still, very nice to listen to, especially on a gray day like this.

Edit 3: Ah Moh!! reinforces this. XD Very Sonic, sounds like something for a big resort or casino at night. So very Vegas (or whatever the Japanese equivalent is).

Edit 4: Ah... the big soaring love song. :3 Sounds very Mirai Yosouzu (though it probably has no relation to it). The synths and backing also carry along the city motif quite nicely...

Edit 5: Sayonara Meter/Tameiki Counter carries on the lounge/hotel motif from Ah Moh!! The album is notably subdued, I notice, much like it's exterior. The bouncy single tracks seem to bookend the downbeat middle of the album.

Edit 6: The extended section of True, Baby True definately sounds like some of Masa's earlier work. I also never realized before how much I love this bassline. XD n.n;

Edit 7: MERRY-LIFE-GOES-ROUND and Middle of Nowhere are just as catchy as the first time I heard them. :3 Almost Home I kind of hoped would remain a B-side, but... XD I suppose it fits on the narrative of the album. I also like the middle guitar section more than I realized. The album seems to be about heading to the city to try and make your dreams come true... and it doesn't work out. So you head back home, realizing a few things on the way. You finish school and meet someone you never realized you cared for and well, sometimes dreams do come true, in the most unexpected way. :3 Of course, this is just conjecture from the feel of the songs and the titles. X3

Just blabbin' n.n;

Edit 8: Don't remember the little bit at the beginning of Good Bye My School Days, in general the song seems to sound a little different. Though could be just me (and not remembering the correct version of it. XD) Still, very catchy. :3 If any song would work over here in America, it's this one, I think.

Edit 9: a song for you & a love song cap the ends of the album very nicely. It's odd, I keep on wanting to say they sound like The Monster/MGO fair, but honestly, it's all distinctively DCT. After you've done as much as they have, it's really hard to not sound like yourself, I suppose. XD

n____n Now press repeat.

Having listened to the album several times, I find that I still feel about the same. The single tracks are all very good and catchy, but the others don't do much for me- not bad, but not great either, although 'A Love Song' is starting to grow on me. I think that this is the first DCT album where I haven't found a standout track in the new material. Hmm...

The backing tracks definitely do have a 'The Monster/MGO' feel to them, Yukifox.

After listening to this album I don't feel disapointed I like the singles and the new songs are alright it's not a bad album I think I prefer the shorter single version of true baby true.

Also after reading the credits I noticed a few musician and singers listed for certain or most songs like Robin Clark who sang in wonderland 1999 Winter and Kow Ohtani who DCT have used alot especially for electric piano\keybaords, And also Greg Adams I think thats his name that name sounds fimiliar I think he has played guitar in Wonderland 2003 on some tracks and he is listed as brass arrangment on this album.

So to finish off I liked all the singles I think I like the live version of tsurette tsurette better but live versions can be better and um out of the new songs I like a love song, Sayonara counter T.. meter sorry you know which song I mean , to the beat not to the beat, it does kinda have a monster/MGO feel I don't know which more so maybe the monster in some respects.

I don't feel bad I have listening to it about 3 times so far yeah not bad maybe could of been better but 20 years is still not bad and to evovle I dunno would be hard I guess
But they have experimented with different types of music and would you call the song torridge and lisbah mexican sorry just wondering after seeying the live version in wonderland 1995.
Masa and Miwa and Takahiro too
now a duo dreams come true. :)

Finally I managed to listen to the album enough times to be able to give my opinion:

"Dai Kirai Demo Arigato" sounds like old school Zard to me. :) I'm a Zard fan after all... it was definitely the non-single track that stood up the most on the album for me. I remember when I first heard it, I loved it but I wanted to hear it with Miwa's vocals. Wish granted! ^^

Now the other songs they all have this lounge feeling to them - Sayonara Counter / Tameiki Meter being the one reminds me a lot of Sonic's Casino stage. I really really like this kind of music so I really like them. Only thing is that the single tracks don't go blend with them. I can't quite explain it but I enjoy it a lot more when I hear these tracks separately.

I think these non-single tracks will sound amazing live. Many of their songs only "get" me when I hear them live.

The non-single tracks DO sound a lot better live.
