For the past few years, DCT's promo images have leaned heavily on the "cartoon" versions of Miwa and Masato.
It's sort of turned me off to see these caricatures used so consistently. Feels like a mask that separates the fan from the performer.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?

My wife and I don't like them either, but we imagine Miwa is not happy with aging (she looks just fine, as far as we're concerned). We doubt it bothers Masa; some of the cartoon images show him with white in his hair. Notice they've also gotten away from appearing in videos for their single releases.

That was my guess, too. She's staying out of most of the blog photos, as well.
Japanese culture can be brutal re: aging, so she might be making the best decision to keep the focus on the music, give or take a few seconds here and there in TV commercials.
