DCT Band Score

Finally got one! I should have got a piano score over the band score, because it makes playing from it really hard! I admit though, I did want to see masa's full arrangements written down.

I got "Dreams Come True Best Collection", best collection from the wonderland 2003 set I take it being as all of them appeared in wonderland 2003, pretty much the same order and the artwork is the same style as the dvd menus/packaging.

All my favourites from wonderland 2003 are in there (except sweet revenge)!

Thought I'd share this site with you
http://www.doremi.co.jp

They seem to have quite a few DCT books arranged for bands and piano/vocal. MGO, The Soul and a few hits collections.

Of course!! The day I had it i was straight at the piano! I get the idea this book isn't for a band at all to be honest - I expected the parts to be seperate... it looks more like a conducters score! It's a challenge to follow just one instrument for the entire song without stopping.

"Kessen wa Kin'youbi" is great, I cant believe they made a 5 note bass line last for so long without sounding the same.

I like the details in the vocals aswell... i always thought at the start of"Ano Natsu no Hanabi" they were singing "Who, who, who, who" its actually "Fu, fu, fu, fu".

The opening of Ureshi Tanoshi Daisuki "Da da li a, da da lia a tan, da da li a, da da lia a tan" maybe thats clear on the recording, i've not heard but it wasn't clear to me from the live versions i've heard.

All the chanting in song of joy is written out aswell. Whilst its hard to play from, its great to look at.

I'm getting a piano and vocal score collection from doremi when i can afford it. over 50 songs for ¥2500!

mebbe it's got the vocals for the chorus of 'Ring! Ring! Ring!...

there's this weird counterpoint or something she does, it sounds like notes, but actually it is something like

bike! --- (something) --- is! --- fun!
(something) --- (something) ---- in! ---- sun!

sadly, this book doesn't have "ring! ring! ring!" in it. maybe the piano book will, and if it has those lyrics i'll let you know... although i doubt the piano book goes into such detail. i just listened to the track, and I havnt a clue!

Does anyone know what the english is in "Sayonara o Matteru"?
I can't get the first bit "------, talk to me baby, I'm gonna miss you"

The first bit of english (~1:30), is, I think:

look at me baby
I'm waiting for your goodbye
I hear your voice whenever you're gone

At the end I hear these:

~~ ready for your goodbye ~~
~~ talk to me baby ~~
~~ I'm gonna miss you ~~

Thanks tachikaze.

I just checked, and this new book I'm getting has Ring! (x3) in it. If it has the vocals I'll let you know

piano/vocal score came this week (along with a polite little note from Doremi thanking me for buying their music).

None of those vocals appear in the score.... infact, pretty much all the English backing vocals have been removed (like "Some day, I wont hide my heart....." from "Meganegoshi no Sora".

They've included the English version of "Winter Song" and "It's all about love [acoustic version] where ALL THE ENGLISH LYRICS ARE IN CAPITALS FOR SOME REASON.

I'm amazed that their latest singles (bar the two tracks from OLA!) are in here.

52 songs for ¥2,500 - not bad at all i think.
I recommend ordering from Doremi if you want some sheet music, they make great books, great detail in the back about playing them and understanding musical direction in scores, etc (in japanese mind! 8) )

Eventhough I have no books or basic versions of the tunes to make it easy for me to play the tunes, I can get the basic melodies of Da Diddly Deet Dee, Kusuriyubi No Kesshin and Sweet Sweet Sweet on my keyboard.

I should have the MIDIs of my renditions on my computer in a few days.

Spaceman: i cant remember how much shipping was now. I had the "Best Collection" band score with the Wonderland 2003 art on and I also got the "my favourite songs" book which has over 50 DCT songs for piano/vocal.

and I'm getting a new nylon acoustic guitar in Feb to play it. . .

. . . eventually. . .

(I'm a total beginner but a man's gotta have dreams)

I just ordered an acoustic/electric bass guitar- I'm feeling it too!

I play drums, but until we get a house, I don't think it makes any sense to buy another kit.

I've tried guitar (and I liked it), but I think bass will be more manageable for me- we'll see...
