Seventh of July Sunny Day
Seventh of July Sunny Day
Jei,
Just arrived today... played all the Masa instrumentals! Wo! Some are very strange, but very cool!
In particular I liked:
MAX-M (One of the best)
Open Sesame (Of course! One of the best)
Junglia
Vega to Altair Dai Nigakushou (another one of the best)
Hibi no Omocha - that was quite amusing! Sounds familar for some reason.
I've never heard "Suki - Worldwide version" before...
And at last, I've heard the full recorded version of "Ureshi! Tanoshi! Daisuki!" Fantastic track, DCT classic. I still must get the Love Goes On album.
I'm puzzled about this CD - Where is it from!?? This was music from a movie?

Yepper you're right on both counts
Only DCT songs and the instrumentals are part of the score...
Always thought of the soundtrack as the first 'unofficial' DCT best-of album...too many good songs on there...
(Saw the movie on VCD way back in the day...sweet, romantic movie...kinda hard to pay attention to when every single song become the forefront because you've heard it before...^^)

My wife and I just watched the video copy we purchased in Tokyo (still no DVD- too bad)- the songs fit the movie so well, it's almost like the movie was made around the songs! I wonder...
Also nice brief, but subtle variations on 'Shichigatsu Nanoka, Hare'. Good arrangements by Masa.
My wife says the film is rather naive (she uses film a lot in her classes, so she is very analytical), but I agree with Jei that it is sweet and very romantic- and any DCT fan would love the way the soundtrack compliments the film!
It seems to be well thought of in Japan- I don't know why there isn't a DVD version.

Happy 20th Anniversary! Just finished watching (again)!
Still no DVD, although it appears you can stream it (in HD!), which is good; I'm not sure how much longer my VHS copy (and player) will last.

One more year (with another used VCR player - thank-you, Habitat for Humanity!) and my videotape copy is still going strong.
What would I ever do without it?
